clients Ruth and David Aird

David and Ruth Aird have been involved with Heart of the Matter and have encouraged many to share their life story on the programme since 2007. David edits and produces all the programmes and Ruth is one of the interviewing team.

clients Helen and Harvey Stalker

Harvey and Helen Stalker have been on the team since 2007. Harvey is chair of the team who meet on a regular basis and also interviews. Helen's main role is hospitality enjoyed by all involved on the programme.

Andrew and Fiona Don have joined the team more recently. Fiona provides superb communication skills combined with her role as treasurer. Andrew is sharing in sourcing and interviewing guests.

Ian Mcgregor

clientsIan McGregor is a member of the Scottish Fellowship of Christian Writers which is when he came to know about "Heart of the Matter", joining the team a number of years ago. He is a trustee/volunteer with Glasgow South West Foodbank. His ambition is to see Britain’s last foodbank close in his lifetime.

Morlin Thomson

clientsMorlin Thomson is an IT consultant and is coordinating the design and development for the website. He is part of the initiative to widen the listenership for heart of the matter radio program through cloud service providers. Working along with Anand Tech Media (Chennai,India) and Ian to provide the necessary support.


Ruth Sinclair

NewsRuth Aird catches up with Ruth Sinclair in the Manse of Palmerston Place, Church of Scotland, Edinburgh. The broadcast went out in March 2019 and can be accessed through the "Heart of the Matter " website.

John Wyatt

NewsHarvey Stalker caught up with Professor John Wyatt in the chapel of Heriot Watt University, Edinburgh. Professor John was in the city to deliver the Annual Chaplaincy Lecture for 2019. His lecture was entitled "Being Human in an age of artificial Intelligence"and the broadcast went out in April 2019.

Colin Sinclair

NewsHarvey Stalker was in conversation with Rev. Colin Sinclair prior to becoming Moderator of the General Assembly of The Church of Scotland. His programme is due for broadcast in May 2019.

Nele, Billy and Anita

NewsHarvey and Helen Stalker caught up with three members of the Operation Mobilisation team who were in Scotland recently. Nele, Billy and Anita will feature in different programmes over the summer months and will share something of their involvement with O.M. and what the "Heart of the Matter" is for them in their lives today.

Bethany Macleod and Nicola Martin

NewsBethany Macleod and Nicola Martin are research assistants with the Evangelical Alliance (Scotland). They chatted to Ruth Aird about their role during this year and about the decisions which brought them to this point. Their programmes will be broadcast in May 2019.

Iain Jamieson

NewsIain Jamieson is a return visitor to "Heart of the Matter". Since his last visit he has taken up a post in Buckingham Palace as an Assistant Research and Government Liaison Officer, Secretariat, in the Private Secretary’s Office. Harvey Stalker conducted the interview but Ruth Aird is seen here with Iain and others in the team in the centre of the city of Sibiu in Romania.

Atlantic Mission Team

News"Heart of the Matter" had a rare opportunity to catch up with the members of The Atlantic Mission Team when they visited Mull with their ship Jewel 2 (Juvel II). The team came mostly from The Faroe Islands but some from Norway and Greenland were on board. The visit was inspired by Victoria who lives on Mull and heard an interview with the team on BBC Radio Orkney last year and wondered if they might visit her home island. The team gave a very warm welcome to all who wanted to visit the ship and have refreshments. Three programmes will go out over the summer months of 2019 and the team will expand on their experiences.

Rev. Jock Stein

NewsHarvey Stalker headed down to East Lothian to have conversation with Rev. Jock Stein. In a wide ranging interview many aspects of Jock's life were discussed including what he is doing at the present. His broadcast was planned to go out in March 2019.

Rt. Rev. Susan Brown

NewsRuth Aird caught up with the Rt. Rev. Susan Brown as she came close to the end of her moditorial year for the Church of Scotland. The conversation took place in the headquarters of the Church of Scotland in 121 George Street, Edinburgh. The interview was planned to be broadcast in March 2019.
